Attorney Jessica J. Schimelpfenig was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota. After living in Scottsdale, Arizona, and New York City, she is pleased to be living back in Southeastern Minnesota and practicing law.
Jessica graduated from Hunter College, located on the upper east side of Manhattan, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Literature and Political Science. Returning to Minnesota, she graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Law, Cum Laude, earning Dean’s List honors every semester.
She has a professional background in Human Resources Management and customer services. As an attorney, Jessica’s practice is focused on family issues. She represents clients in divorce proceedings, paternity and custody establishment cases, post-dissolution matters, child support proceedings, and adoptions. Her goal is to assist clients by guiding them through the legal process and by helping them take the steps necessary to reach their desired outcome. She is proficient in negotiating fair and reasonable settlements and often utilizes the various Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods available. She is a strong and effective advocate for her clients in proceedings before the Court.
Jessica volunteers time and effort for Pro Bono activities in Southeastern Minnesota and currently serves as a board member for Legal Assistance of Olmsted County. Outside the law, Jessica is an avid reader and book club participant. Being the daughter of local veterinarian, she has a strong love for animals, particularly her dog Lulu, who often spends time at the office as well.
